China Eastern links Shanghai and Tbilisi, Air China to add Beijing to Bishkek

China Eastern Airlines has a new route linking Shanghai with Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, lined up. The flight will operate three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, commencing on July 15th.

Tbilisi has historically been a major trading post thanks to its location at the crossroads of Asia and Europe. Despite that, the country’s population is only about 3.6 million, over a third of whom live in the capital.

Flight number MU285 will take off from Shanghai Pudong Airport at 12:50 and will arrive at Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport at 19:00. The return leg, flight number MU286, will leave Tbilisi at 21:00 and land back in Shanghai at 10:00 the following morning.

The outbound flight duration will be a little over ten hours, and the return flight, about one hour less. An Airbus A330-200 aircraft will serve the route.

Beijing to Bishkek

A new route connecting Beijing with Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, will be launched on July 17th. The service will operate three times a week on Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays.

Flight number CA893 will depart from Beijing Capital Airport at 17:00 and arrive at Bishkek’s Manas International Airport at 20:40. The return leg, flight number CA894, will depart from Bishkek at 22:10 and touch down again in Beijing at 05:00 the following morning.

An Airbus A321 aircraft will serve the flight, and the journey time will be approximately five hours and forty minutes for the outbound flight and about fifty minutes quicker for the return.
