China Eastern grows its network
Routes to Tashkent, Adelaide, Stockholm, and Vienna are on the timetable

March 11th, 2026. The airline has four new destinations lined up for the summer, three departing from Shanghai and one from Xi’an. First to take to the skies will be a service linking Shanghai with Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent. This will launch on March 30th and operate four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flight number MU6037 will take off from Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport at 13:45 and arrive at Tashkent International Airport at 18:40. The return journey, flight number MU6038, will leave Tashkent at 20:20 and touch down again in Shanghai at 05:50 the following morning.

Airbus A330-200 will serve the route, which will last a little under eight hours for the outbound flight and about six and a half hours for the return.

Shanghai to Adelaide

On June 20th, the airline will resume a short seasonal service between Shanghai and Adelaide. The route will depart on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between June 20th and August 2nd.

Flight number MU781 will depart from Shanghai at 19:40 and arrive at Adelaide Airport at 07:30 the next morning. The return leg, flight number MU782, will depart from Adelaide at 09:30 on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays and will land back in Shanghai at 18:30.

The journey time will be approximately ten and a half hours each way, and the flight will be served by Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Shanghai to Stockholm

Two days later, on June 22nd, the airline will resume its service between Shanghai and Stockholm, Sweden, after a six-year hiatus. The flight will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flight number MU289 will depart from Shanghai at 15:00 and arrive at Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport at 20:10. The return journey, flight number MU290, will leave Stockholm at 22:40 and land back in Shanghai at 14:40 the next day.

Airbus A330-200 aircraft will serve the flight, which will last a little over eleven hours for the outbound journey, and about then hours for the return.

Xi’an to Vienna

A service linking Xi’an with the Austrian capital, Vienna, will launch on April 20th, and will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Flight number MU5063 will take off from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport at 01:30, and will arrive at Vienna International Airport at 06:10. The return leg, flight number MU5064, will leave Vienna at 13:30 and arrive back in Xi’an at 05:50 the next morning.

The flight duration will be approximately ten and a half hours in each direction, and the route will be served by Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
