New routes to Japan
Flights from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam
January 26th, 2026. Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines will be launching direct flights from the city to Fukuoka. The service will initially commence on March 9th with five flights a week. From March 29th, the service will change to daily with a different flight number and times.
From March 9th, flight number HB300 will take off from Hong Kong International Airport at 08:25 on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and will land at Fukuoka Airport at 12:55. The return journey, flight number HB301, will leave Fukuoka at 14:00 and land back in Hong Kong at 17:10.
From March 29th flight number HB308 will depart from Hong Kong at 07:15 and arrive in Fukuoka at 10:55, except Saturdays when the departure time will be 08:30 and the arrival, 13:00. The return leg, flight number HB309, will leave Fukuoka at at 14:00 and arrive back in Hong Kong at 16:45 except Saturdays when the departure time will be 13:40, and arriving at 16:10.
The outbound journey will take about three and a half hours, and half an hour longer for the return. All flights will be on board Boeing 737-800 aircraft,
Taichung to Tokyo and Danang
Starlux Airlines has scheduled a new route linking Taichung, in Taiwan, with Tokyo. The service will launch on March 30th and operate four times a week on
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Flight number JX314 will depart from Taichung International Airport at 09:30 and will arrive at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport at 14:00. The return trip, flight number JX315, will leave Tokyo at 15:30 on Mondays, 16:00 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 16:30 on Saturdays, arriving back in Taichung at 18:10, 18:40, and 19:10 respectively.
The route will be served by Airbus A321 Neo aircraft, and the flight time will be about three and a half hours each way.
The airline will also operate a limited-time service from Taichung to Danang, in Vietnam. The route will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays between March 30th and May 31st.
Flight number JX327 will depart from Taichung at 07:35 and arrive at Danang International Airport at 09:15. The return trip, flight number JX328, will leave Danang at 10:15 and land back in Taichung at 14:00.
The flight will last about two hours and forty minutes and will be served by Airbus A321 Neo aircraft.
Hanoi to Shizuoka
Meanwhile, VietJet Air will launch a service between Hanoi and Shizuoka scheduled to take off on April 30th.
Flight number VJ1980 will depart from Hanoi’s Noibai International Airport at 02:40 and arrive at Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport at 09:30. The return journey will leave Shizuoka at 10:30 and will touch down again in Hanoi at 14:00.
The journey time will be a little under five hours for the outbound trip and about forty minutes less for the return. An Airbus A320 will serve the route.
