New Batik Air route to Banda Aceh
China Eastern flies to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airlines resumes Chengdu service
January 16th, 2026. Batik Air is set to launch a new route between Kuala Lumpur and Banda Aceh, at the north end of Sumatra in Indonesia. The service will initially operate four times a week between March 16th and March 28th, but will become permanent from June 27th.
Flight number OD316 will depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 17:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and will arrive at Sultan Iskandarmuda Airport, Banda Aceh, at 18:05. The return leg, flight number OD317, leaves Banda Aceh at 07:35 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and arrives back in Kuala Lumpur at 10:20.
The journey will last for about an hour and forty-five minutes in each direction and will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Hefei to Kuala Lumpur
A short seasonal service between Hefei and Kuala Lumpur will be launched by China Eastern Airlines. The flights, set to cover the lunar new year period, will operate between February 4th and March 13th. It will hit the runway three times a week with two different time slots.
On Sundays and Wednesdays, flight number MU7275 will take off from Hefei’s Xinqiao International Airport at 17:50 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 23:15. On Fridays, the flight will depart at 22:15 and arrive at 03:45 the next morning.
The return trip, flight number MU7276, leaves Kuala Lumpur at 00:25 on Mondays and Thursdays and lands back in Hefei at 05:45. On Saturdays, the departure will be at 05:00, and landing in Hefei at 10:10.
An Airbus A320 Neo will operate the route, and the journey time will be approximately five and a half hours.
Kuala Lumpur to Chengdu
Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines has resumed its service connecting the country’s commercial hub with Chengdu. The flight departs five times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Flight number MH526 departs from Kuala Lumpur at 19:10 and arrives at Tianfu International Airport, Chengdu at 00:15 the following morning. The return leg, flight number MH527, leaves Chengdu at 01:15 on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and arrives back in Kuala Lumpur at 06:20.
The journey time will be about five hours in each direction, and the route will be served by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
