Turkish Airlines to launch service from Istanbul, plus Varanasi to Bangkok
December 19th, 2025. A new service between Istanbul and Phnom Penh has been launched by Turkish Airlines. The service operates via Bangkok and departs three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
“Our flights to Cambodia will present new opportunities for both tourism and business. Additionally, as the only European carrier flying to this destination, we will further solidify our leadership in the region,” said Bilal Eksi, the Airline’s CEO.
Flight number TK52 will take off from Istanbul International Airport at 22:15 and touch down in Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 11:40 the next morning for a 95-minute stop, before continuing to Phnom Penh, where it lands at the new Techo International Airport at 14:40.
The return leg, flight number TK53, leaves Phnom Penh at 19:15 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and arrives back in Istanbul at 05:15 after another 95-minute stop in Bangkok.
The overall duration of the journey will be approximately twelve and a half hours for the outbound flights and about 14 hours for the return. An Airbus A330-300 will serve the route.
Varanasi to Bangkok
Air India Express has opened reservations for a new weekly service connecting Varanasi and Bangkok. The service will launch on February 1st.
“The introduction of this non-stop service to Bangkok provides seamless access to one of India’s most sought-after international destinations,” said Aloke Singh, the airline’s managing director. The route also offers easy access to the Buddhist circuit.
Flight number IX215 departs from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi, at 12:35 every Sunday and touches down at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 18:05. The return journey, flight number IX215, leaves Bangkok at 19:05 and lands back in Varanasi at 21:35.
The flight will last about four hours in each direction, and an Airbus A320 will be deployed for the route.
