Air Astana to add new flights to Phu Quoc and the Maldives

October 15th, 2025. Starting on October 25th the Air Astana will introduce flights connecting both Almaty and Astana with Phu Quoc, in Vietnam. The service from Almaty will operate five times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, increasing daily during holiday seasons.

Flight number KC161 will depart from Almaty International Airport at 23:05, and arrive at Phu Quoc International Airport at 08:15 the next morning. The return trip, flight number KC162, will depart from Phu Quoc at 09:45 on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and arrive back in Almaty at 15:35.

The flight will be served by Airbus A321Neo aircraft, and the outbound journey will last for a little over seven hours, and the return will be a little under eight hours.

From Astana, the flights will depart three times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Flight number KC 173 will take off from Astana’s Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport at 21:35 and land in Phu Quoc at 07:45 the following morning. The return journey, flight number KC174, will depart from Phu Quoc at 09:15 and touch down again in Astana at 16:15.

The flight duration will be about eight hours for the outward journey and about nine hours for the return. An Airbus A321Neo aircraft will serve the route.

Also to the Maldives

The airline will also add flights between Almaty and the Maldives. The service commences on October 26th and will operate three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. This will increase to five times a week, with additional flights on Mondays and Fridays, over the holiday period.

Flight number KC585 will take off from Almaty at 04:35 and will arrive at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, Male, at 11:20. The return leg, flight number KC586, will leave Male at 13:40 and arrive back in Almaty at 20:20.

The journey will take about six hours and forty-five minutes in each direction, and the route will be served by Airbus A321Neo aircraft.

Existing services between Almaty and both Bangkok and Phuket will also see their frequencies increased to daily.
