August 18th, 2025. Two new services connecting Chinese cities with Vancouver on Canada’s west coast will launch in September.

First on the Runway will be a China Southern flight from Guangzhou, which takes off on September 16th. Flight number CZ329 will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 00:25 on Tuesdays and Fridays, but because it crosses the international dateline, it will arrive in Vancouver at 21:45 a calendar day before, local time. The return leg, flight number CZ330, will leave Vancouver at 01:05 Tuesdays and Fridays and land back in Guangzhou at 06:00 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The flight will be served by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The outbound journey will take about twelve and a half hours, and the return a little under fourteen hours.

From Shanghai

On September 25th, China Eastern will launch a service linking Shanghai with Vancouver with two flights a week, departing on Mondays and Thursdays.

Flight number MU581 will depart from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 13:20 and will touch down in Vancouver at 09:10 the same day. The return journey will take off from Vancouver at 12:50 and arrive back in Shanghai at 16:15 the next day.

The duration of the outward flight will be a little under eleven hours, while the return will be approximately twelve and a half hours. The route will be served by Arbus A350-900 aircraft.

The Airline will also run a brief service between Shanghai and the Uzbekistan capital, Tashkent. The four flights will operate on Sundays and Wednesdays between September 28th and October 8th only.

Flight number MU6037 will depart from Shanghai Pudong at 13:40 and arrive at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport at 8:40. The return leg, flight number MU6038, leaves Tashkent at 20:20 and arrives back in Shanghai at 06:15.

Airbus A330-200 aircraft will serve the route, which takes about eight hours for the outward journey and an hour less for the return.
