Two New Routes to China
Greater Bay Airlines to fly to Guilin and Zhangjiajie
April 2nd, 2025. On April 15th Hong Kong’s Greater Bay Airlines will be launching new routes to Guilin and Zhangjiajie, both popular tourist destinations in China. First on the runway will be a morning service to Guilin which will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Guilin’s Liangjiang International Airport serves both the city of Guilin as well as the town of Yangshuo. The two are joined by the Li River which passes through a stunning and mysterious landscape of limestone karsts as well as the picturesque Xingping old town. Guilin is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, designated by the State Council of China as a National Famous Historical and Cultural City.
Flight number HB530 will take off from Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok at 07:50 and arrive at Guilin’s Liangjiang International Airport at 09:30. The return leg, flight number HB531 will depart from Guilin at 10:20 and land back in Hong Kong at 12:00.
The flight time in each direction is about one hour and forty minutes and served by Boeing 737 aircraft.
Zhangjiajie
Located in the northwest corner of China’s Hunan province is Zhangjiajie, home of the famous Wulingyuan Scenic Area which is about 20 kilometres north of the city. The park features thousands of quartzite columns, often towering up to over 200 metres tall and is surrounded by lush forest and caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites.
Flight number HB872 will depart from Hong Kong at 21:55 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport at 23:55. The return journey departs from Zhangjiajie at 08:00 on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, arriving back in Hong Kong at 10:05.
The flight will be on board a Boeing 737 and the outbound journey is scheduled to take two hours exactly and the return five minutes longer.
