Destination Vietnam: Three new flights
Cebu to Ho Chi Minh
March 10th, 2025. Starting April 7th, Cebu Pacific will introduce direct flights between Cebu and Ho Chi Minh City. The service will operate three times a week departing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Flight number 5J5780 will take off from Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 20:45 and arrive at Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 22:55. The return leg will leave Ho Chi Minh at 00:05 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arriving back in Cebu at 04:10.
“As Vietnam continues to grow in popularity among Filipino travellers, launching a new gateway to the country via Ho Chi Minh City is an exciting step for Cebu Pacific. We look forward to offering travellers from Cebu the chance to explore a new destination more seamlessly and welcome more international visitors to discover the Philippines,” said Xander Lao, the airline’s President and Chief Commercial Officer.
The airline will deploy Airbus A320neo aircraft and the flight time is a little over three hours in each direction. Philippine Airlines are also set to link Cebu with Ho Chi Minh starting from May 1st.
Almaty to Da Nang
Air Astana is launching a new service linking Almaty with Da Nang. The flight will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays with flight number KC599 departing from Almaty International Airport at 00:55 and arriving in Da Nang at 10:05. The return service, flight number 10:05, will depart from Da Nang at 11:45 and land back in Almaty at 17:00.
The flight duration will be a little over seven hours in each direction and will be served by Airbus A320neo aircraft. This new route complements the four weekly flights from Almaty and three from Astana to Nha Trang.
Bangkok to Hai Phong
Thai AirAsia has earmarked July 16th to introduce a new service between Bangkok and Hai Phong. The flight will operate four times a week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Hai Phong is a major port city on the Red River Delta about 120 kilometres east of Hanoi, and about 45 kilometres from the popular Ha Long Bay.
Flight number FD670 will take off from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport at 10:30 and arrive at Cat Bi International Airport, Hai Phong at 12:30. The return leg, flight number FD671, departs from Hai Phong at 13:00 and arrives back in Bangkok at 14:55. An Airbus A320 will complete the journey in about two hours each way.
