Three Aeroflot flights to Sanya
February 28th, 2025. The Russian flag carrier, Aeroflot is to launch flights from three Russian cities to Sanya, the southernmost city on China’s southernmost Island, Hainan.
Sometimes dubbed the Hawaii of China, Hainan boasts a tropical climate with Sanya as its premier destination. The area boasts around 40 kilometres of coastline and offers beach resorts, excellent surfing, and diving. Away from the sea, there are national parks with forest trails to hike.
The first flight will operate on Mondays and Fridays and will take off from Kazan on March 21st. Flight number SU0862 will hit the runway at 17:35 and arrive at Sanya’s, Fenghuang International Airport at 07:20 the next morning. The return leg, flight number SU0863, will leave Sanya also on Mondays and Fridays at 08:50 and land back in Kazan at 13:50.
The flight duration will be eight hours and forty-five minutes outbound, and ten hours on the way back.
From St. Petersburg
Starting on March 22nd the airline will link St. Petersburg with the island. Flight number SU0860 will depart from the city’s Pulkovo Airport at 16:30 on Saturdays and Wednesdays, and arrive in Sanya at 07:20 the next day, after a flight of nine hours and fifty minutes.
The return trip, flight number SU0861, will leave Sanya at 08:50 on Saturdays and Tuesdays and touch down again in St. Petersburg at 14:45. The duration of the flight back is just under eleven hours
From Ufa
A service from Ufa will commence on March 22nd with only one flight in the first week but this will increase to twice a week after March 30th.
The flight will operate on Thursdays and Sundays with flight number SU0864 taking off from Ufa at 19:55 and landing in Sanya at 07:20 the next morning. The return trip, flight number SU0865 will leave the island at 08:50 on Thursdays and Sundays and arrive back in the Russian city at 15:10.
The duration of the outward flight will be eight hours and twenty-five minutes, and the return about one hour longer. All three flights will be served by Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
