Vietnam relaxes visa requirements

Vietnam relaxes visa requirements
February 27th, 2025. In an effort to attract up to 23 million foreign visitors in 2025, Vietnam is to offer visa-free entry to citizens of three more countries. Starting from March 1st until the end of the year the country will grant 45-day visa-free entry to visitors from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
Vietnam welcomed over 17.5 million visitors in 2024, up from 12.6 million arrivals the previous year. The growth is driven largely by increased flight services and routes, as well as more relaxed visa policies.
“Visa exemptions greatly benefit travel companies, as many customers plan trips on short notice. The visa process can be a major obstacle for last-minute travellers,” Chung Thuy Chau, Sales Director at Viet Tourism Media Company told Voice of Vietnam World.
The addition of these three brings to sixteen the total number of non-reciprocal countries eligible for the 45-day visa-free entry. The others are; Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Passport holders of Brunei, Cambodia, Chile, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Panama, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand are granted visa-free entry for stays of between 14 and 90 days.
Visitors from other countries can apply for an E-Visa from Vietnam’s Immigration Department E-Visa website
