Myanmar Airways expands its network
Mandalay to Chiang Mai and Yangon to both Danang and Penang
The airline has resumed its direct service between Mandalay and Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand. The service had been suspended since the Covid-19 pandemic. The new flight operates twice a week and is the first of three new international flights to be added to the airline’s network.
Flight Number 8M-374 takes off from Mandalay International Airport on Monday at 14:10 and touches down at Chiang Mai International Airport at 16:00. The return leg, flight number 8M-375, departs from Chiang Mai at 16:30 and arrives back in Mandalay at 17:20.
The duration of the fight is one hour and twenty minutes and is served by an ATR72, a 70-seat twin-engine turboprop.
Myanmar Airways also operates flights from Mandalay to both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports in Bangkok, as well as Novosibirsk in Russia.
Yangon to Danang
Starting from April 2nd a new service between Yangon and Danang in Vietnam will be launched.
Flight Number 8M-454 will depart from Yangon International Airport at 16:30 every Wednesday and Saturday, and arrive in Danang at 19:00. The return journey, flight number 8M-455 will leave Danang at 20:00 and land back in Yangon at 21:30.
The airline will deploy an Embraer EM190 for the two-hour flight.
Yangon to Penang
A service linking Yangon with Penang in Malaysia will be inaugurated on April 10th.
The flight will operate twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays with flight number 8M-505 taking off from Yangon at 14:45 and arriving at Penang International Airport at 18:15. The return trip, flight number 8M-506, will depart from Penang at 19:15 and land back in Yangon at 19:45.
The duration of the flight is two hours and will be serviced by an Embraer EM190
