Sri Lankan resumes direct flights to Beijing
Shenzhen to Tokyo relaunched
February 11th, 2025. Commencing on July 2nd Sri Lankan Airlines will resume its direct service to the Chinese capital, a route that it hasn’t flown since late 2023. The new service will depart four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays though there will be two slightly different configurations and timings.
On Mondays and Fridays flight number IL868 will take off from Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport at 13:20 and arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport at 23:15. On Wednesdays and Saturdays the flight departs ten minutes earlier at 13:10.
The return legs, flight number UL 869, will depart from Beijing at 00:50 on Tuesdays and Saturdays arriving back in Colombo at 05:50. On Sundays and Thursdays the flight departs thirty-five minutes earlier at 00:15.
In all cases, the flight duration is about seven and a half hours and will be served by an Airbus A330-200.
Shenzhen to Tokyo relaunched
China Southern has resumed its service between Shenzhen and Tokyo’s Narita Airport, a route it hasn’t flown since 2020. Flight number CZ8127 will take off from Shenzhen Baoan International Airport at 09:50 three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive in Tokyo at 15:00. The return leg, flight number CZ8128, departs from Tokyo at 16:15 and lands back in Shenzhen at 20:50.
The flight is served by an Airbus A321 Neo with the outward journey lasting a little over four hours and the return around five and a half.
