JANUARY 23rd, 2025. Air Astana will be adding another China destination from March 30th. The new route will link Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty with the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

“China has always been a strategically important market for Air Astana, with strong business and leisure traffic growth since the first service was launched between Astana and Beijing more than 20 years ago,” said Air Astana’s chief executive Peter Foster. “The launch of the new service to Guangzhou represents a very significant step in expanding Air Astana’s China network.”

Flight number KC187 will take off from Almaty International Airport at 20:50 on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and arrive at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport at 05:45 the following morning. The return trip, flight number KC188, departs from Guangzhou at 06:50 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays arriving back in Almaty at 10:20.

The flight will be served by an Airbus A321 Neo for the flight and the journey time is about six hours out and six and a half hours return.

The airline currently operates daily flights to Beijing from both Almaty and Astana and four flights a week from Almaty to Urumqi.
