New flight from Western China to Singapore
And from Northeast China to Kuala Lumpur
December 18th, 2024. From December 25th a new service linking Lhasa and Chongqing in China, with Singapore will be launched. The flight is operated by West Air, a low-cost subsidiary of Hainan Airlines based in Chongqing.
Singapore and China enjoy mutual visa exemptions and it is hoped that this new service will help to promote tourism and cultural exchanges between Western China and the city-state.
Flight number PN6425, will depart from Lhasa’s Gongga International Airport at 17:40 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and arrive at Chongqing’s Jiangbei Airport at 20:30. It will take off from Chongqing at 22:50 and arrive in Singapore at 03:55 the following morning.
The return journey, flight number PN6426, will depart from Singapore at 04:55 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and touch down in Chongqing at 09:40. It will continue to Lhasa at 12:20, arriving there at 15:20.
The flight will be served by an Airbus A319, a slightly smaller version of the more familiar A320.
Changchun and Yuncheng linked to Kuala Lumpur
Shanghai Airlines has launched direct flights between Changchun, in Northeast China’s Jilin province and Kuala Lumpur. The flight will be routed via Yuncheng, in Shanxi province, and will operate three times a week deploying a Boeing 737-800.
Flight number FM813 will take off from Changchun’s Longjia airport at 14:25 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and arrives in Yuncheng at 17:05. It departs from Yuncheng at 18:25 and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 00:15 the next morning.
The return service leaves Kuala Lumpur at 01:15 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and touches down in Yuncheng at 07:10. It leaves again at 09:30 and arrives back in Changchun at 12:45.
