New Indigo service from Pune to Bangkok
October 28th, 2024. Starting from November 22nd India’s Indigo Airline will add flights between Pune in Maharashtra State and Bangkok. The Thai capital has just been listed on National Geographic as one of the 25 best places in the world to travel to in 2025.
The service will operate three times a week with flight number 6E1947 departing from Pune at 23:10 on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and arriving at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 04:45 the following morning.
The return service, flight number 6E1948, will take off from Bangkok at 01:15 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays arriving back in Pune at 04:15.
“We are extremely pleased to announce direct between Pune and Bangkok. With the introduction of these flights, IndiGo will now operate over 85 direct, weekly, flights to Thailand from eight cities in India,” said Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales at Indigo. “It is a testament to our ongoing efforts to scale up our network, providing a seamless, travel experience, that we expand our reach to strengthen Pune’s standing as a key hub in India.”
Pune is an important educational centre with more than fifty colleges and universities and is often dubbed, the Oxford of the East. In recent years it has also become a significant tech hub.
Also a domestic flight to Thiruvananthapuram
The airline has also just launched a new domestic service linking Pune with Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, in southern India. At present flights are operating daily but they will be reduced from November 24th to four times a week.
Flight number 6E6647 will depart from Pune at 23:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive in Thiruvananthapuram at 01:05 the following morning. The return journey, flight number 6E6648, will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, taking off from Thiruvananthapuram at 02:40 and touching down again in Pune at 04:35.
