Vietnam to Munich and Milan

September 23rd, 2024. Vietnam Airlines with be launching direct flights to Munich this October. There will be one flight a week from Ho Chi Minh City which will operate on Mondays commencing on October 7th. This will be followed by two flights a week, on Fridays and Sundays, from Hanoi which will take off on October 27th.

From Ho Chi Minh City, flight number VN 33 will take off from Tan Son Nhat Airport at 23:50, arriving in Munich at 06:20 the following morning. The return flight, number VN 32, will depart from Munich on Tuesdays at 11:50 arriving back in Ho Chi Minh at 04:55 the following day.

The Hanoi to Munich service, flight number VN 35, will depart from Hanoi’s
Noi Bai Airport at 23:50 arriving in Munich at 06:05 the next day. The return leg, flight number VN 34 will leave Munich at 11:50 touching down again in Hanoi at 04:30 the following day.

To Milan

The Airline is also planning to launch direct flights between Hanoi and Milan. The route will be served by one of the airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners which feature business, premium economy, and economy classes.

The service won’t start until July 1, 2025, but for those that like to plan ahead, flight number VN 73 will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, taking off from Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport 01:00 in the morning and touching down at Milan’s Malpensa Airport 07:40. The return journey, flight number VN 72, will leave Milan 12:30 and arrive back in Hanoi 04:30 the following day.

This new route will be the only direct flight between Vietnam and Italy though the airline does have plans to launch a service between Ho Chi Minh City and Milan later in 2025. It will bring the number of European cities served by the airline to nine.
