VietJet and AirAsia in India

September 17th, 2024. VietJet will be launching a direct flight between Ahmedabad, in Gujarat on the western side of India, and Danang, Vietnam. The service will take off from Danang on October 23rd with two fights a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The service will deploy an Airbus A320 with flight number VJ1971 departing Danang at 19:10 and arriving at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 23:25. The return leg, flight number VJ1972, will leave Ahmedabad at 00:25 on Thursdays and Sundays arriving back in Danang at 06:55.

Ahmedabad straddles the Sabarmati river which divides the city into two distinct regions. The old city, which includes Bhadra Fort, occupies the eastern bank of the river. The fort was built in 1411 by by Ahmad Shah I and features ornately carved palaces and mosques.

During the colonial period the Ellis Bridge was built and the city began to expand to the western side of the river and is home to the modern business district.

Vietjet now offers eight services between Vietnam and India connecting New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.

Kuala Lumpur to Lucknow

AirAsia has launched a service between the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The service operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays with flight number AK 15 taking off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 19:10 and arriving at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at 21:25. The return journey, flight number AK 14, will leave Lucknow at 22:00 and arrive back in Kuala Lumpur at 05:25.
