Garuda and Lion pencil in schedules
Garuda and Thai Lion are readying for the resumption international flights. Garuda has ten destinations lined up for flights to and from Jakarta starting later this month. There are plans for one flight a week each to Hong Kong, Osaka, Amsterdam, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Twice a week to Tokyo and Seoul, three to Kuala Lumpur and daily to Singapore.
Since strict measures remain in place for all destinations and Jakarta itself these flights will be mostly for repatriating each countries citizens.
Thai Lion has also pencilled in flights commencing July 1 when the country lifts its ban on airline travel. The airline has lined up four flights a week between Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport and Jakarta, four to Taipei and three a week to Kathmandu. As with Garuda these flights are dependent on the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand ending restrictions on international flights and the readiness of destination countries to open their borders.
